Numark NTX1000 Review

Our Thoughts on the Numark NTX1000

Are you currently eyeing the Numark NTX1000? Before you add this turntable to your shopping cart, make sure that you read the entirety of this quick review first. That’s because we will talk about some of the most noteworthy features that this unit with a sleek look packs.

Key Features

It’s plain to see that the NTX1000 has more features than most other turntables out there — all you need to do is check out the doodads surrounding the platter! The following are some of the unit’s features that we believe you should know about before you consider purchasing it:

  • Full-size platter. No one can deny that the Numark NTX1000 is specifically designed for DJs. That’s because it has a massive platter that gives DJs plenty of room to do what they’re exceptional at. The platter, which relies on a high-torque and direct-drive motor, is capable of playing 33 1/3 and 45 RPM speeds.
  • Accurate tracking. The manufacturer of the turntable wants to make sure that you get precise tracking and nothing else. Such is evidenced by the presence of a tonearm that has an S shape, height adjustment, anti-skate control, damped cueing, and counterweight. Speaking of which, the integrated counterweight is fully adjustable, thus allowing you to obtain the balance that you prefer.
  • Trouble-Free Mixing. Coming up with seamless mixes is made possible by the presence of a pitch fader that comes with its dedicated reset button. With the Numark NTX1000, you can also easily adjust the pitch range. By the way, there are also start/stop time knobs for variable time ramping.

What We Like

The DJs in us are delighted to learn that the Numark NTX1000 is packed with features that we can use to our heart’s content. There are, however, some that really captured our hearts, and they include:

  • Easy scratching. Especially if you’re a DJ who likes to pepper your tunes with scratches, you’ll be more than glad to learn that the 2.5-lb platter of the unit is designed to allow you to scratch sans those annoying vibrations. Such a hefty platter also allows for reliable record playing at home or elsewhere.
  • Two-speed design. The NTX1000 is capable of playing both 33 1/3 and 45 RPM speeds. To make sure that you are not going to have trouble enjoying any type of record, it comes with a 45 RPM adapter. However, we were kind of frustrated to learn that the unit isn’t capable of playing at 78 RPM.
  • Isolation design. What’s really nice about the Numark NTX1000 is that it’s designed to isolate unnecessary noises such as feedback and vibrations usually generated by turntables. This is why when we used the unit at a club, we had no trouble bringing down the roof as we were able to play bass-heavy tracks very loudly without aggravating any partygoer’s eardrums.

Who is This Product Best Suited To

One look is all it takes for anyone to realize that the NTX1000 is made specifically for DJs. It comes with features that seasoned DJs and producers will find valuable. It comes with a professional design, too, which allows every DJ who uses it to let everyone know that he or she is one to be taken very seriously.

Despite the bells and whistles, the turntable still has a clutter-free interface that’s user-friendly. That is why it will also surely appeal to newbies in the world of DJing. Even if you’re just a casual record collector and listener, you will find that the Numark NTX1000 is a future-proof unit, thanks to the various features it packs.

What Customers are Saying

Most customers love that the NTX1000 boasts of a sleek look and a durable construction. They find it hard to quit raving about the unit’s full-size platter, mixing features and isolation design. However, there are a few shortcomings that some customers simply cannot ignore. For instance, just like us there are those that are unhappy with the fact that the Numark NTX1000 doesn’t have a 78 RPM speed playback that some cheaper turntables come with.

The Bottom Line

No matter if you are an experienced or a newbie DJ, adding the Numark NTX1000 to your arsenal of audio equipment is a good idea. Even if you’re not planning on becoming a DJ, you will find that this turntable will make for an eye-catching add-on to your home entertainment system.
